Season 7 of the American television comedy series The Goldbergs was confirmed on May 11, 2019, along with the confirmation of Schooled Season 2. It premiered on September 25, 2019 and concluded on May 13, 2020.

Plot[]

Picking up where last season left off, Barry and Erica are getting ready for college together at Penn, Adam begins junior year with his friends but without Jackie, and Geoff is still undecided about his future.

  • This season is a continuation of Barry and Erica's college admission, and Geoff's undecided future.
  • The season premiered on September 25, 2019.
  • Alison Rich, who plays Erica Coolidge, was absent for most of the season, due to her filming her project, "At 30, We Throw Dinner Parties", and was listed as a semi-regular character.
  • Natalie Alyn Lind returned as Dana Caldwell this season after a two-season absence. Dana's brother, Ari Caldwell, did not return as his portrayer, Jackson Odell, passed away in June 2018.
  • Lainey Lewis was expected to make a cameo appearance somehow, possibly through a picture or on the news. She appeared in "The Fake-Up" when she returned to Jenkintown to meet her father's new girlfriend, Dolores.
  • This season was originally expected to consist of 24 episodes, but concluded with 23 as a result of Sony Pictures Television shutting down production of The Goldbergs and Schooled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as announced on March 14, 2020.
  • Season 8 was confirmed on May 21, 2020.[1] Along with the cancellation of The Goldbergs spin-off, Schooled.[2]
